Maeve and I started our 'mommy and me' swimming class on Monday at the Y. I wanted to get her used to a pool and swimming... and I thought it would be fun! The class description read something like this..'mom and baby will...learn to blow bubbles...learn to get in and out of the pool...float on back and stomach...etc...Nowhere in the description did it say 'Mom must know the lyrics to every children's song, or else, all the other mom's will look at you as if to say "Loser! how do you not know the words?? I mean, I just instinctively know the words...I knew the words before my baby was born..cause that's what good mother's do...you suck!!!" Okay, not really...no one said anything, but that's what my insecure little self heard (in my head). I would have been fine, I mean seriously, I was doing really well with..."head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes" that was easy, but without warning came "and eyes and ears and mouth and noes" or my version..."and blah, blah, cough, blah blah."
Needless to say, I have spent the last few days googling hundreds of songs. I will not be looking the fool at the next swimming/singing class...no freakin way!

hahahaha! really, you should be thankful not to know all the songs...they get stuck in your head and drive you up the wall. teagan and now trey has 2 bears,a puppy, and a frog that all sing the songs when you touch their hands, feet , and tummy. and they love to get all of them going at the same time just to torture me!!
you are too funny! i learned my lesson on the song thing when i took Feona to Gymboree for their classes...felt like a total tool! needless to say i did the exact same thing you did!!! HA! how is Maeve like the classes??? hope to get Echo in the pool this summer, she lets me float her on her back in the tub...but walking is are challenge right now!! that and cutting her upper two front teeth...good times!
Awww ~ hang in there mom, you will learn them soon enough and then like Shannon said, you will PRAY to get them out of your head!!
