They come from nowhere/Vietnam.....invade your planet/home...and next thing you know you're taking orders from them. Our little Alien happens to be called Maeve and she totally tells us what to do. It's okay right now, since she is just getting used to us, but soon enough, I'll have to let her know that I'm the Mommy and she's the baby (not the other way around).
We've been home for two weeks...and if you want to know how it's going, please check out my friend Marci's blog (you can access it through the comments section). She summed it up rather nicely...and accurately. Just remember to substitute the name Maeve whenever you see the name Echo:)

Since I am too tired to write a lot, I'll just say a few words about Maeve. She has a great appetite. I can't figure out how an 18 pound baby can eat 20 pounds of food??? She is generally happy....She loves her Daddy...She hates the car seat....she likes to tease Nigel by holding a Cheerio in front of him and then eating it herself......she can stand up on her own and take about 7 steps before she face plants it into the cold, hard floor. She loves the bath.....she wants to be held, like all the time.....and if only she would take a nap I might be able to hold on to my sanity (what's left anyway):)

I was reading Ava's blog from the beginning last night reminiscing on our journey to her adoption since we are coming up on our 1one year "Gotcha" day. We had the same issues with Ava, but they seem so distant and long ago. Hang in there, things get better and better every day.
Love,
Rich, Susan & Ava
I hope she settles into a routine for all of you soon. Hang In There and when it is my turn in another 6 weeks, please remind me that it WILL get better!!
hahahaha! oh man, the things we do for a family! not sure about the rest of you, but the past couple days things seem to be getting a little saner! she goes down for 2 naps (though sometimes fights it for 10-15 minutes) then heads to bed around 7:30...still wakes up 2-3 times a night, but thats a far cry from every hour just screaming! we did have a good time, the 4 of us, rolling a round the carpet after bath time last night...it will get esier is my mantra..hell i might even get it as a tattoo!! LOL! thinking about you guys!
